Although I think the 1875 is maybe just a little bit too similar to the Cattleman with the main difference being the diagonal web underneath the barrel.Milled groove in the rear of the top-strap, Front blade. So I'm thinking Rockstar may have just classed the Cattleman as both the Colt AND the Remington but I'm hoping that we may see one of the older models such as the Remington 1858 which is used in Django Unchained or more likely the Remington 1875 which was designed to compete with the Colt SAA :-Īfter all they went with the 1851 version of the Navy rather than the newer 1860 version so it is feasible that they could do the same with the Remington too. The only issue is the latest Remington models in relation to the time the game is set were almost identical to the Colt SAA with the latest one only being slightly different from it. Originally I never thought we would see any of the other types of revolvers that we got because apparently the 3 that we got - Colt SAA (Cattleman), Smith & Wesson Model 3 (Schofield) and Colt M1892 (Double Action) were the main 3 used in that time period and any others were either too old school in comparison and ineffective or were just slight variations of those 3 so Rockstar were pretty historically accurate.īut since we have had the Lemat and Navy Revolvers which I'm delighted with I'm hoping that we also get a Remington at some point as this is the only other type of 'mainstream' revolver that I can think of that is missing which is used a lot in the western genre.
